1. Mayor Schor Announces Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Council Members

    Mayor Andy Schor has announced the members of his new Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Council which was established by an Executive Order earlier this year. The Council will provide expertise, resources and support in citywide diversity acceptance, respect and celebration.

    “Part of the greatness of Lansing is its warm and welcoming spirit to people of all different cultural, ethnic, religious and personal orientations. These diverse expressions are part of what makes Lansing strong,” said Mayor Schor. “I am excited to announce that we are moving ahead with the formation of the Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Council that will make our city even stronger going forward.”

    Mayor Schor is pleased to announce the appointment of the following members to the Mayor’s Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Council: Amanda Bernes, Mark Brown, Michael Butler, Dax Carpenter, Dale Copedge, Manuel Delgaldo, Mark Eagle, Brandon Henderson, Melissa Jefferies, Stacy Locke, Clara Martinez, Tedi Parsons, Jason Peek, Feliz Rodriguez, Samara Morgan and Michelle Weinfeld.

    The council will begin its internal organizing efforts starting in September of 2018. The council will elect from among themselves a Chair, a Vice Chair and a Secretary. A formal installation and seating of the council will occur in January of 2019.
