LaSonia Forte serves the eastern region of the State of Michigan, including Detroit, Saginaw, Bay City, Midland, and Alpena. As an outreach representative in the Office of Government Relations, LaSonia's role is to build strategic partnerships in the business, institutional, government, education and non-profit sectors throughout the east side of Michigan.

LaSonia is a native of Detroit and received her B.S. in Psychology from Eastern Michigan University and her Master of Public Administration from University of Michigan – Dearborn. She has extensive experience working throughout the University of Michigan, including the Office of the Dean of the Horace H. Rackham School of Graduate Studies, Office of the President, and in the Office of the Associate Vice President of Facilities and Operations.

LaSonia serves as the Board President of the Washtenaw County's Dispute Resolution Center. She also serves on the Board of Directors of Girls Group and is the co-creator and cosponsor of the annual Frank J. Forté Laptop Scholarship. She has been engaged in community outreach for more than ten years in Metro Detroit and the greater Ann Arbor area.
