Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan announced a major affordable housing initiative for the city at a news conference at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Detroit Public Safety Headquarters.
The city is calling Detroit Housing for the Future Fund, “the most significant fund dedicated to affordable housing to date.”
In a recent report by the University of Michigan’s Poverty Solutions initiative, Detroit residents say they want afforable housing, more jobs that match their skills and they want to start their own businesses but face financial barriers.
